I t is customary in the village for brides to be to separate from their parents home a day before the wedding. The bride can go to a friend’s house or to one of her family members.  The custom is called Tal-a which means leaving home.  Amna went to one of her five sister being accompanied by women friends, and family members. They walked with her from her parents home to her sister’s while playing the tambourine and singing. Once arrived at her sister, many guests have arrived to  wish her good luck and much happiness.

At the same time a separate party or rather a festive dinner took place at the groom’s family home. Once done, the guys were up and dancing in the street traditional male dances.  the interesting part was that the bride could not attend yet her family was there and her mother was took center stage.
